already known by Timothy. Learning and growing is not always hearing new things. It comes mostly through being reminded of things we already know. The phrase “the last days” may seem at first to refer to the period just before the return of Christ. When taken in this sense, there’s a tendency to assume that things have to get worse in order for Christ to come. This could lead to resignation rather than to a resistance to evil. I prefer to interpret “the last days” as sometimes having a broader meaning.
